What's changing
Supernormal is making your meetings more powerful and making work even easier. This means that the way your meetings are captured is changing — and so are some of the features you may have been relying on.
If you currently use Norma (our bot) or the Chrome extension to capture meetings, here's everything you need to know.
How capture works going forward
Starting on April 2026, meeting capture will only be available through the Supernormal desktop app — available for both Mac and Windows.
If you have already downloaded the desktop app for Mac or Windows, the following changes are in effect as of March 3, 2026.
The desktop app captures meetings automatically. There's no bot to schedule, no extension to activate, and no "start recording" button to click (unless you choose not to sync your calendar).
Once you've downloaded the app and signed in, it runs quietly in the background and picks up every conversation the moment it starts. By the time your call ends, your notes — including action items, decisions, and key points — are already structured and ready to go.
If you're already using the Mac app, nothing changes for you. If you're on Windows, the app is now available and works exactly the same way.
Norma and Chrome extension capture will continue to work until April for those who have not yet downloaded the Mac or Windows app. All current capture settings, language settings, share settings, and some organization settings will remain your default; however, they can no longer be updated from your Settings pages.
Why are we excited about the desktop app?
Automatic capture, every time — no setup, no scheduling, no manual steps
Faster notes — summaries, action items, and decisions are ready the moment your call ends
A cleaner, more reliable experience — no bots joining your calls or extensions to manage
Make the most of your meetings with the help of a Superagent — Supernormal now completes a number of tasks for you with a more complete context of the work you do

Why these changes?
Meeting capture — no more bots or extension Capture now happens quietly from your device, so Norma and the Chrome extension are no longer needed. It's a simpler, less disruptive experience for you and everyone else on the call.
Video and audio recording Because capture no longer goes through a bot, video and audio recording is not part of the desktop app experience at this time. There are currently no plans to reintroduce it in the near future.
Select Integrations As we evolve towards an agentic model, we are reassessing the tools we partner with and how they fit into the new vision. As of March 2, we will no longer support the following native integrations: ClickUp, Hubspot, Github, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Workable, Zapier, Asana.
Blocking rules Blocking rules were designed for bot-based capture. Since the desktop app captures quietly in the background, they no longer apply.
A note on recording consent: Some states and countries require that meeting participants be notified when a conversation is being recorded. Notifying participants is the responsibility of each user. We recommend reviewing the call recording laws in your region, as they vary.
Language support The desktop app currently captures meetings reliably in English. Support for Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese is actively in development and expected to roll out over the coming months.
For Supernormal customers who signed up before February 3, 2026, meetings held in any of the languages listed here will continue to be supported by the Chrome extension and Norma until April. Your set language is your default.
After April, when Norma and the extension have been deprecated, we will no support meetings that are not held in English.
Groups → All of your existing Groups are now Projects with the same name as before. The same meetings in any of your previous Groups will automatically appear in Projects.
Templates, sections, and insights → Shortcuts These features have been replaced by Shortcuts — a more flexible way to do the same things. You can create default prompts, use suggested prompts to trigger actions (like drafting a follow-up email), or add additional context to your notes such as action items or customer feedback.
Sharing controls → Starting March 2, all meeting notes recorded are private by default. Users must explicitly choose to share before they are made accessible to others.
Tasks page → Suggestions Tasks have moved to Suggestions. You can view Suggestions for individual meetings, or see a full list across all your meetings from Home.
Frequently asked questions
Will access to my existing notes be affected? No. You will not lose access to any components of past meetings.
What if I rely on the bot for calls where I can't install a desktop app? The desktop app will be the only supported capture method after March or after the desktop download. If you have a specific situation that makes this difficult, reach out to us — we're happy to help figure out the best path forward.
Is the Windows app ready to use? The Windows app is currently in beta. As an existing user, you have early access today. It's fully functional and works the same as the Mac app.
I don't see my language on the list? When will you support languages outside of the listed 6? We are focusing on internationalizing not only notes but our platform; including web and desktop. Given this, we are focusing on a short list of languages at this time. There are currently no plans beyond these 6 languages for the near future.
What happens if I don't download the app before April? After April, the bot and Chrome extension will no longer capture meetings. To avoid any gaps in your meeting notes, we recommend downloading the desktop app compatible with your system before then.
