Create and use insights to extract learnings across your library of meeting notes

Insights in Supernormal keep you regularly updated on key information and provide thoughtful AI-driven analysis from all of your meetings. Ask questions to extract crucial details or gain helpful perspectives on what matters most, such as:

  • What recurring themes are emerging in team discussions?

  • What key product decisions were made this week and what was the reasoning behind them?

  • What specific feedback came from leadership and what are the actionable next steps?

It’s like using Ask Norma across all your meetings—but instead of asking the same important question manually, we turn it into an insight that updates automatically on a recurring basis.

Creating insights

Insights can be created in two places —on the Insights page and from Ask Norma on the Meetings page. An insight includes:

  • Title

  • Filters (optional)

    • Setting filters ensures your prompt only runs on meetings that match your selected criteria

    • If you don’t select any filters, Supernormal will run your prompt on up to 20 of your most recent meetings

  • Prompt

    • A prompt is a question, request, or command that guides Supernormal on what information to extract, analyze, or generate from your meeting notes

  • Recurrence schedule

    • You can have your insight update weekly or monthly at a specific date and time

Your insight will be generated immediately, and future updates will follow the recurrence schedule you set.

From Insights page

  • Click 'Create Insight' or choose from one of the three templates to get started

  • Step 1: Enter a Prompt and apply any relevant Filters, then click ‘Generate Preview’ to see a sample insight based on your selected Prompt and Filters.

  • Step 2: Select a Frequency, Day of week, and Time for your insight to update.

  • Click ‘Finish’ to complete creating your Insight. This can take a few seconds.

  • (Optional) Select a Slack channel or enter email addresses to automatically share insight updates with your team.

From Ask Norma on the Meetings page

  • Ask Norma a question on the Meetings page

  • Turn Norma's answer into an insight by clicking 'Create Insight' below the response

  • Enter Title, Prompt, Frequency, Day of week, and Time

    • The new insight will apply the current filters from the Meetings page and use the prompt you just entered in Ask Norma

  • (Optional) Select a Slack channel or enter email addresses to automatically share insight updates with your team

Where to find Insights

The Insights page is your centralized hub to create, view, edit, and share insights. Accessible from the left sidebar, insights are organized chronologically, with the most recently updated ones at the top.

Starter plan users are limited to 5 insights per member.

Pro, Business, and Enterprise plan users can create unlimited insights.

Editing insights

Click the ••• button at the top-right corner of an insight card, then select Settings. Any changes you save will apply to future updates of the insight.

Sharing insights

By default, the insights you create are visible only to you on the Insights page. You can choose to automatically share your insight with other members via Slack or email, so each time your insight updates, the update will automatically be sent through those channels.

Click the •••… button at the top-right corner of an insight card, then select Share. Any changes you save will apply to future updates of the insight.

Deleting insights

Click the •••… button at the top-right corner of an insight card, then select Delete insight.
